As the nights gets longer and the days shorter, I have to adapt so expect some more night photography for the next few months.

I also managed to take some HDR pictures like this one:

I managed to do them handheld, without a tripod or a monopod. For that I configured my Nikon D2H to take only 5 pictures on CL mode, at 5fps. Combined with the autobracketing mode at 5 intervals of 1 EV that means that to generate the picture above, I just need to keep the shutter button depressed and it will take only the five pictures needed in (optimaly) less than one second.

Photomatix is then used to align the pictures (granted the alignement difference is very slight due to the speed of the camera), generate the HDR picture and do the tone mapping.

As said previously on this blog, I now work at Splitgames.com, a company based in Paris, France providing services to gamers where I manage the development of our web projects. We use Symfony as a framework on which to base our projects. Of course, we play quite a bit of video games, have a few console systems laying around and I was wondering about how to bridge this two interests. On my right I had a Playstation 3, on my left I had Symfony, the missing link would prove to be Ubuntu Linux.

Note: Running linux on a playstation 3 is not a hack, it doesn't require any hardware modification, won't disable any feature on your Playstation 3 and is not difficult to do.
